F.A.Q.
Frequently asked questions
Is my (or a) partner welcome?
Absolutely! We even think it is very important that you take the entire course together with someone. If you ask us, there is a wonderful, essential role for the (birth) partner, whoever that partner is: A friend, mother, sister, or doula, they are all welcome at the meetings, and we delve deeply into his role.
Logically, it happens most often that this (birth) partner is the father and love partner of the pregnant woman. If you wish, you can indicate this on the form so that we can take you into account.
I booked a wrong date, can I change it?
If you have already booked, but for whatever reason you want a different start date or a different course format, please contact us as soon as possible via info@momenco.nl. The more time there is to arrange something, the greater the chance that it will succeed. Always mention the full name of the booker, the course format, location and start date and then we will look for a good solution together.
What if I (or we) miss a lesson?
Of course it is a shame if you miss a lesson. So check carefully before booking whether it fits your agenda. If there is no other option, for example due to force majeure or illness, we will give you access to the Online Course, with guidance on what you should and should not follow. This way you can actually follow the lesson digitally at home. You will join again at the next lesson, and questions will be discussed 1 on 1 with the teacher after the lesson. If there are many questions, we will make a telephone appointment. Unfortunately, moving to another group or form is in principle not possible once your course has started. Sometimes there is a last-minute solution, so always contact us. We always do everything we can to find a good solution.
Where do I find my course location?
You will receive the exact location and number of your teacher by email one week before the start. Lost your email of you didnt’ receive it? Send an email to info@momenco.nl as quick as you can.

What if my partner cannot be there (partially)?
If your partner cannot attend a lesson, that is of course a shame! The course is written for the presence of ‘a’ partner. This could also be your birth partner, for example a friend, mother or even doula.
Before booking, check carefully whether it fits into your agenda. If the (birth) partner misses a lesson, this person will have access to the Online Course, with guidance on what to follow and what not to follow. This way the lesson can be caught up digitally. The (birth) partner will join again at the next lesson and any questions can be answered that day. You can always bring a ‘substitute’ with you.
Where do I find the online course?
Our pregnancy course is hosted on a external platform. You can find ithere or go to: https://momenco-online.nl/
Where do I find English Spoken courses?
To find our English Spoken courses, make sure the language is set to English, using the language selector (English flag up top) Note: Sometimes the language switches back to Dutch Only when the location is set to English, you will see the English offerage. An English spoken course will always have ‘English Spoken’ in the title in the agenda. If not, the course will always be Dutch spoken.
What's the difference between the group courses?
In terms of content, the same topics are covered in the 4 week, 2 week, 1 day course and the private course, but the 4 week course is by far the most extensive. The 1-day course is really a crash course, a blast day so that some topics are briefly covered. This is less the case with the 2-week course, which also depends on the group and what questions arise, but there is more time and attention.
However, the difference is much more in the dynamics. During the 4 week period you grow as a group, you have homework after every lesson, and you are also busy integrating the material at home during your ‘date night’. We also see that the group has a lot of contact with each other, often even after the course. There is plenty of room for questions, and we have more time to think about pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. The 4 week is truly a dedicated journey that you undertake with your partner for a longer period of time. With the 2 week period, the period is shorter, and you have homework once in between, and the 1 day is a fun day of fun together, including lunch. The private course is much more about a collaboration between you and us, in the comfort of your home or our office.
Is Mom & co a hypnobirthing course?
Our pregnancy course is not a regular hypnobirthing course. Founder Aline has developed her own course, she trained as a hypnobirthing therapist, and based on other training she has completed in the field of personal leadership, mindset and more, she has developed this course. In our opinion, it fits the times and the Dutch system. The course is written by midwives and combined with our practical experiences. Elements of hypnobirthing are used such as visualization, affirmation and breathing and relaxation techniques, but with theory and exercises about your mindset it has become a very empowering, informative, but also fun and accessible course to create a lot of confidence!
Can I cancel the course?
If due to circumstances you cannot participate in the course, please inform us as soon as possible. If you cancel up to four weeks before the start of the course, €25 administration costs will be charged. This will be deducted from the paid course fee. The remaining amount will be returned. 50% of the course fee is due from four weeks to three weeks before the start of the course. After that, the full course fee is due. We will only refund the full amount if one of the following exceptions applies:
- If you give birth prematurely (before 37 weeks of pregnancy) before the start of the first day of the course.
- If you cannot participate in the course for medical reasons that concern you and the online pregnancy course is not an option. We will ask you for a statement from the doctor/midwife.
- When another student takes the place before the start of the course. This may sometimes only become clear just before the start of the course.
When is a good time to do the course?
The best time to start our course is of course very personal, so whenever you feel like it. But generally we say between 27 and 33 weeks. It also depends on the shape you choose. If this is a little earlier or a little later, that is no problem. If you complete the course no later than around 37 weeks, that is good. The later you start, the greater the chance of missing a lesson because the baby can already come. The normal period for giving birth is between 37 and 42 weeks. If you decide to participate later, it is at your own risk. Also calculate that you will want to work and practice the course material at home after the course.
The course I want is sold out, what now?
Mail us at info@momenco.nl. We can put you on a backup list, but we would also like to think about an alternative in terms of date and/or course format. Checking our agenda with your own first is the best.
I don't see any dates for the period in which we want to take a course, will that still happen?
If there are no dates online yet, please be patient, we will continue planning without holidays. You can always email us to see if dates are coming up or for a place on the waiting list option. You will be notified as soon as the dates are known.
Can I also take the course alone?
That is possible, but we recommend that you bring a friend, for example, the person who will support you during the birth. The course is written for pregnant women with a partner, which does not have to be your love partner.
Is the course reimbursed by my health insurer?
Most insurers (partially) reimburse our antenatal course, usually with supplementary insurance. For questions about reimbursement, it is best to contact your insurer directly and check your policy. Mom & co’s midwives are BIG registered and have an AGB code. We are not affiliated with other associations such as the ‘hypnobirthing association’ or ‘giving birth together’ because we have our own course. After the last meeting you will receive an invoice and proof of participation containing all the information required for reimbursement.
You can use the information below to check with your insurer whether you will receive reimbursement:
AGB-code: 08100530 Midwife Aline Kiers.
Certified hypnobirthing teacher.
BIG-number: 89913349503
How does the insurer's reimbursement work?
You will receive an invoice when you register for the course and have paid, but you do not yet submit this to your health insurance. After the last meeting you will receive a certificate of participation that you can submit. If you do this before the last meeting, your insurer will not reimburse it because you have not officially completed the course. The responsibility for this lies with you.
Can I call you?
Due to our small team, we use 1 central email box, and we do not have a telephone option for contact: info@momenco.nl. We do check this box several times a day, and we generally answer our emails right away! It may of course be the case that calling is easier, and we will indicate this in the email.
I cannot (fully) afford the course
We like to think along. Email us at info@momenco.nl if you would like to take the course, but would like to pay in parts or at another time.
How long do I have access to the Online Course?
By purchasing the Online Course you purchase 9 months of access. If you come back to us during your next pregnancy, we will give you a 50% discount using a discount code. Please contact us at info@momenco.nl
